To ensure a great end result, a good photo is needed. Here are a few tips to help you capture the type of quality image we need. Relax, this is really fun!

lighting:: Is the most important quality setting. Natural light is always best. Early morning or late afternoon "golden hour" light is beautiful. Remember keep baby out of direct sunlight. A shady spot outside will work great any time of day also. Stuck inside? Find your brightest room and photograph baby close to a bright window and use your flash. Daylight in the room is the great form of natural light and will also help a photo be its best.

digital photos ::Make sure your images are the highest Mega-pixel setting on your camera and send a high quality jpeg image.

the baby:: Now we know your little bundle is perfect and you want to get the word out, but trust us when we say he/she will get better with age. If possible, wait just a little. Even so much as a week will improve your baby's appearance as he/she "fills out" and her eyes grow brighter.
Dress baby in something light in color or white. Prop baby up a bit and try to keep his/her hands or other objects away from his/her face. Awake or asleep, that's entirely up top you.

the shoot::

A nice, light colored or subtle patterned blanket works great. Let it fold and wrinkle naturally around your baby. Steer clear of a dark or bold patterned blankie. Try to keep it simple. Get close: Babies have great skin and little details so don't be afraid to get close. But, Do Not Crop Any Part Of The Babies Head Out Of Frame.

Take pictures. Lots of pictures. You have a good pose; the light is nice so take as many as you can. This is a big deal, a memento, so be sure and capture it. Move around a bit. Move in. Move back. Higher angles and lower ones. Be sure to get them mostly from a straight-on angle. Just remember not to crop baby's head.

the selection::
Out of the 20 or 30+ pictures you took, pick your favorite 3 and send those. Number them in order of preference. If you have no preference and love them all, we will pick the best one for the format. Don't worry, if we don't think your photo is up to par, we will let you know. We want you to happy with your purchase. So try it again and we will process another photo at no charge.
